mDEST: On Your Market, Get Set, Go!

The Meadowlands Liberty Convention and Visitors Bureau’s (MLCVB) mDEST 2017—the premier annual educational and networking event for New Jersey’s travel and tourism professionals—will take place this year on Tuesday, Sept. 26th from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus.

The Conference will offer topical information on how to attract and create life-long clientele among hard-to-reach but loyal demographics including foreign independent travelers (FIT), LGBT and millennials.

“Tourism is a $38.2 billion industry for New Jersey but there’s lots of competition from neighboring states so it’s critical for our hospitality industry to grab the attention of newly emerging demographics with appealing experiences,” said Judy Ross, vice president of the MLCVB and Meadowlands Regional Chamber (MRC). “We’ve put together a line-up of experts that will help New Jersey stand out for its superior hospitality to domestic and international visitors of all ages and creeds.”

“Our speakers, Jake Buganski from the NJ Division of Travel and Tourism; Jef Buehler, NJDCA place-making expert; Julie Payne, a group marketing strategist; Chloe Stewart, a creative development professional for Coca-Cola’s Sports and Entertainment assets; and Caroline Acosta, a specialist in partnership activation will provide a combined 75 years of experience staying relevant and worthy of tourists’ attention and hard-earned dollars,” said Jim Kirkos, President and CEO for the Meadowlands Regional Chamber. “mDEST attendees will walk away with new ideas of how to position their municipalities, regions and CVBs to market their already-existing and potential attributes.”
