Ramapo College Ranks High in Annual National Rankings

As Ramapo College of New Jersey begins another academic year, it has once again performed well in two major national rankings: MONEY Magazine’s 2018-2019 annual ranking of Best Colleges for Your Money and the 2019 America’s Best Colleges ranking from U.S. News & World Report.

“Ramapo’s continued success and performance in these rankings can be directly attributed to our high graduation rates, substantial increases in scholarship monies in recent years, one of the lowest average tuition rates in New Jersey, and the dedication of our faculty and staff,” said Peter Mercer, President of Ramapo College.

For the 2018-2019 ranking, MONEY analyzed graduation rates, tuition charges, family borrowing, alumni earnings, and more than 20 other data points to find the country’s top higher education values that offer a well-rounded collegiate education. Ramapo finds itself ranked fourth in the State of New Jersey (among 21 colleges and universities) and ranked within the top 16 percent of schools nationwide (113 of 727 public/private institutions).

Ramapo’s ranking is based on projected 2018-2019 tuition (without financial aid) of $31,600, an average student debt of $22,800, and early annual career earnings of $48,100. In addition to MONEY’s own data calculations, the rankings also employ data from the U.S. Department of Education, Peterson’s, and PayScale.com.

“Higher education has become the second largest financial expenditure nationwide, outpaced only by the purchase of the family home. Parents and students need reliable data and rankings on which to make a higher education decision, and these rankings are two of the most respected measures that help contribute to those important family discussions,” concluded President Mercer.
