Governor Phil Murphy unveiled the State’s new Economic Development Strategic Plan in October, focusing on accelerating growth to surpass that of Northeastern peer states. Among the four priorities for 2025 are investing in people and communities, making New Jersey the State of Innovation and improving government efficiency to advance New Jersey’s competitiveness and business climate.
Also recently announced is a new in-state program called Grow Apprenticeships in Nontraditional Sectors (GAINS). In partnership with the U.S. Department of Labor, the initiative helps create apprenticeship opportunities for high-growth sectors such as advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, IT, health care, life sciences and more.
Lastly, you are now able to download the New Jersey License and Certification Guide online. Business activities often require some form of registration, license or certification by the State, for which the guide lists requirements and the appropriate agency contact to better assist you.
