Meadowlands Chamber Donates Over 3,000 Pairs Of Socks

The Meadowlands Chamber, in collaboration with Ernst & Young and Eastwick College, has collected over 3,000 pairs of socks as part of its Annual Sock Drive.

The socks have been delivered to the Bergen County Human Services Center, which operates a homeless shelter and also provides referral services to homeless and housing transitive populations.

Many people are surprised to hear that socks for adults are the least-donated clothing items and yet the most in-demand for centers that serve the homeless and housing transitive populations. The combination seems obvious but it doesn’t occur to most donors so unfortunately they are usually in low supply. As the weather cools, the demand only increases.Thank you to all organizations and individuals who generously supported this year’s record-breaking effort.
