Adult Degree Completion Program begins at William Paterson University in January 2020

Adults who attended college but did not finish now have a new option to achieve their Baccalaureate degree on an expedited schedule that maximizes efficiency for busy working adults. Courses are offered in online and Saturday in-person sessions, scheduled consecutively rather than concurrently during each semester.

“We understand that few of us have carefree uncomplicated lives,” according to Dr. Bernadette Tiernan from William Paterson University’s School of Continuing and Professional Education, the department overseeing this new program. “Our Adult Degree Completion programs are designed to reinforce our students’ personal motivation to succeed by offering a supportive environment of instructors and staff to keep everyone poised for success.”

Adult Degree Completion is accomplished using a new cohort model that offers courses in a fixed sequence that incorporates weekday online sessions and Saturday in-person meetings in Spring, early Summer, Fall and Winter sessions. For easy access to parking, classrooms, and advisors, this program will be located in the School’s at 1600 Valley Road in Wayne.

The Adult Degree Completion Cohort Program is designed for adult professionals who have previously completed 60+ credits and require an additional 60 credits to finish their degree.

Participation includes assessment of prior learning, work experience, competencies, professional licenses, and certifications. Support services are available through the School to help with enrollment, registration, and career advisement to strengthen academic skills and life/work balance.

Applications are now being accepted for the Health Studies degree cohort starting in January 2020, followed by Fall cohorts for new degree tracks. For information, please call Dr. Tiernan at 973-720-2463 and visit www.wpunj.edu/cpe.
