Total of $170,300 donated to NJ-based charities by Kearny Bank in latest round of giving

In its most recent round of giving, the KearnyBank Foundation donated a total of $170,300 to five New Jersey-based charitable organizations.

“Our success enables us to help support those communities in which we conduct business, and we’re grateful for that,” says Craig Montanaro, Kearny Bank President and CEO. “And it’s gratifying that our contributions are made to a range of different organizations. I believe this variety ensures that a broader range of people will ultimately benefit from the funds we share.”

Following is a breakdown of Kearny Bank’s five 2021 donations, to date.

  • $65,000 to Junior Achievement of New Jersey, to support several key offerings. Among these are the Women’s Future Leadership Academy and the JA High School Heroes
  • $50,000 to the Kip Center, in Rutherford, to support multiple programs for seniors. These include such essential services as Keeping Seniors Connected, Nutritious Meal Bag, and Home Friends.
  • $30,000 to the African American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey (AACCNJ) to fund a pilot, financial literacy initiative known as the Village Program.
  • $15,300 to the National Council of Jewish Women for the Back 2 School program, which provides essential classroom, clothing, and personal hygiene items for Essex County students.
  • $10,000 to the New Jersey Community Development Corporation – which partners with groups that include Paterson-based Eva’s Village – to support the acquisition and distribution of 40 Chromebook computers, via the Housing First initiative.

Seamlessly melding the finest traditions of community banking with state-of-the-industry capabilities, Kearny Bank provides a range of progressive offerings to its personal and business banking clients. Established in 1884, and operating now from administrative headquarters in Fairfield, NJ, Kearny Bank is steadily expanding its footprint throughout New Jersey, as well as New York City’s Brooklyn and Staten Island boroughs.
