MedShare provides disaster relief assistance in response to Hurricane Fiona

MedShare, an international nonprofit organization that recovers surplus medical supplies and equipment from U.S. hospitals and manufacturers, recently announced it has initiated its Disaster Response Protocol in response to Hurricane Fiona.

The organization, which has a longstanding history of supporting the people of Puerto Rico after natural disasters, is taking the following actions:

  • Opening its Primary Care Supply Center to individuals and groups who are making medical missions to the affected region to provide medical relief
  • Working with trusted on the ground partners and NGOs to assess the damage
  • Preparing initial shipments of necessary medical supplies and equipment to support people in the immediate area affected by Hurricane Fiona

As the situation continues to unfold, MedShare’s assistance will continue to evolve in order to tend to the needs of the people being affected.
