As the weather heats up in the Garden State, the Meadowlands Racetrack is set to host a variety of events to keep guests entertained. Throughout the month of May, the venue will be hosting multiple food festivals, as well as its second annual Corgi Cup.
Best Burger Battle (May 9)
On Saturday, May 9, the Meadowlands Racetrack will be hosting some of the top burger joints in New Jersey in a competition to crown the state’s best burger. From 5 to 11 p.m., guests will be able to try meals from some of the top burger joints the state has to offer. Entrants are competing for $3,000 in cash prizes, including the $1,500 grand prize.
In addition to burgers, there will be several food trucks at the event selling a variety of foods, from bbq to ice cream. There will also be harness racing taking place on the track starting at 6:35 p.m., for more entertainment while guests enjoy the food.
Beerfest (May 16)
The following Saturday, on May 16, the Meadowlands Racetrack will be switching from food to beverages, as the venue hosts its annual Beerfest. The event features over 60 participating producers, including many local breweries. The event runs from 5 to 9 p.m. for general admission, with VIP access granting guests early entry at 4 p.m.
The event will feature a live DJ to keep the tunes going while guests sample ales from some of the state’s best breweries. Additionally, there will be harness racing starting at 6:20 p.m. for even more entertainment.
At the same time, the Meadowlands Racetrack will be hosting a Preakness Stakes simulcast, displaying the second leg of the sport’s triple crown races. Guests at the Meadowlands Racetrack will have the opportunity to watch one of the biggest races of the year while at the event.
Corgi Cup (May 30)
On May 30, the Meadowlands Racetrack will be hosting its second annual Corgi Cup. The adorable event gives guests the opportunity to watch the cute dogs race, in addition to the night’s harness racing. The corgi races will begin at 5:30 p.m., with harness racing beginning at 6:35 p.m. There will be 11 corgi races in total, including the finals, offering $1,700 in prize money for these pups.
