Bergen County Hosts Events Celebrating Pakistani, Indian and Korean Heritage

From Aug. 14 to 16, Bergen County Executive James J. Tedesco, III and the Board of County Commissioners will be hosting three separate events separating the cultures and heritage of Pakistan, Korea and India. The celebrations will be held at One Bergen County Plaza and will include a flag raising ceremony in addition to the celebration.

Yesterday, on Aug. 14, the Independence Day of Pakistan Celebration and Flag Raising Ceremony took place. This was the first ever County-sponsored Pakistani Heritage Celebration.

The Korean Independence Day Celebration will be held today, Aug. 15, at 5:30 pm, while the Indian Independence Day Celebration will be held tomorrow at the same time. All of the ceremonies will honor members of the community that have played an integral role in these cultural groups. There will also be performances at the celebrations to entertain guests.
