Bergen New Bridge Medical Opens Recovery Center Focused on Teens

Bergen County Executive James Tedesco joined Bergen New Bridge Medical Center for the ribbon cutting of the Teen T.H.R.I.V.E (Think. Healthy. Respect. Inspire. Values. Empowerment.) Acute Partial Hospitalization Program for teens ages 13-17 who are dealing with substance use disorders.

“In recent years, teens have faced increasingly complex challenges and as a result many have turned to substance use which has led to an alarming rise in teen overdoses,” said Deborah Visconi, President & CEO, Bergen New Bridge Medical Center. “Today, we are cutting the ribbon on a transformative model of care for one of the most vulnerable populations in our community. We are committed to meeting critical unmet needs while eliminating barriers to care.”

This program represents compassion and innovation, providing teens with the tools they need to recover — all while allowing them to remain at home and connected to their families. By offering transportation and integrating academic support, family therapy, and aftercare planning, this program ensures that no teen is left behind due to financial, logistical, or educational hurdles.
