In a sudden change, Russian Islam Makhachev will get in the ring against Brazilian Renato Moicano for the UFC 311 lightweight title. In what was supposed to be a rematch against Armenian Arman Tsarukyan, an injury led to Tsarukyan being out of the fight last minute.
Fans can experience the live action at a Watch Party on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The event takes place at The Gallery on the second floor, overlooking FanDuel Sportsbook. The Gallery has its own bar and casual seating and features a 220-inch jumbo screen plus a sixteen LED screens and one .
In this first UFC PPV of 2025, the UFC is coming back strong with a stacked card. The card is filled with several former champions as the UFC goes to the newly-built Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
The 33-year-old Russian Makhachev takes on Brazilian contender Renato Moicano, 35, has fought against some of the top fighters across several weight classes. Moicano, who is currently on a 4-fight win streak will have a tough matchup as he faces the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter Islam Makhachev.
In the co-main event, champion Merab Dvalishvili, riding an impressive 11-fight winning streak, is set to defend his title against the undefeated Umar Nurmagomedov, who boasts an 18-0 record. This clash promises high-paced action, with Dvalishvili’s relentless wrestling meeting Nurmagomedov’s well-rounded skills.
