The Entertainment

New Jersey Symphony Chamber Players will perform as well as The Midland Park High School Band. There will also be games, prizes, giveaways, and the opportunity to sign up to be an organ donor.

The New Jersey Symphony recently extended its partnership with Hackensack Meridian Health for five years. Over the past eight years, their collaboration brought customized Music and Wellness programs and events to HMH’s network of hospitals throughout the state. The programing positively impacted thousands of patients, health workers, families and caregivers.

Danielle Monaro is a resident of Maywood and was the first Bergen County Ambassador. The goal of the ambassador program is to encourage people to visit the county. A cancer survivor, she was also a health ambassador for Hackensack Meridian Health.

Federal Government Support

“More than 100,000 people, including nearly 2,000 children, are currently on the waiting list for an organ transplant — the majority of whom are people of color. With a shortage of organ donors and a high demand for them, 17 Americans die each day while waiting for a transplant,” President Joe Biden said in a Proclamation about National Donate Life Month.

Biden signed Securing the U.S. Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network Act, which aims to transform the organ transplant network by increasing competition in the contracts process. In addition, the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network Modernization Initiative was also established to increase the system’s transparency and bring about needed reforms.
