Four NHL teams took the ice this weekend at MetLife Stadium for the NHL Stadium Series, the New York Rangers, New York Islanders, New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers. It was the home-state Devils who stole the show on Saturday with their action-packed game that had fans invested before the face-off.
The Devils, who defeated the Philadelphia Flyers by a score of 6-3, showed up to the game in style on Saturday, doing their best Tony Soprano impersonation, fitted with white tank tops, gold chains and the classic tracksuit.
Their opponents, the Philadelphia Flyers, also got creative with their pre-game outfits, showing up in ‘Rocky’ tracksuits, honoring the Philly legend.
The pre-game entertainment did not stop there, however, as the Jonas Brothers performed ahead of the Devils-Flyers game, playing nine of their biggest hits across their decades-long career. The Jonas Brothers, who grew up in Wyckoff, let their biases be known, openly voicing their support for the Devils.
The Devils currently sit at 4th in the Metropolitan Division, just barely outside of a playoff spot. After losing in the second round of the playoffs last year, they are looking to improve upon that and get even further this year.
