The official ceremonial flag of the reimagined Donate Life Transplant Games made its first promotional signing tour stop at American Dream on May 4 to promote the Games and highlight the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation. Hundreds of supporters stopped by to sign the flag throughout the day, including members of Team Liberty – transplant recipients, donor families and living donors – as well as representatives from the Transplant Life Foundation, NJ Sharing Network, American Dream and local transplant centers, hospitals and sponsors.
Similar to torch runs that many international sporting events use before officially starting their games, the flag signing event at American Dream was the first stop for the ceremonial flag as it will make its way around the country for other events ahead of the reimagined Donate Life Transplant Games, which will be held July 16 through July 19, 2021, in a hybrid format featuring both online and in-person events to ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants and supporters.
“At American Dream, we are excited to be the first stop of the Donate Life Transplant Games flag signing tour to elevate the awareness and importance of organ, eye and tissue donation and advance the Donate Life cause,” said Nicole Mozeliak, Chief Operating Officer of American Dream. “We also look forward to proudly hosting several Donate Life Transplant Games events to connect participants, honor donors and educate people from all over the globe as part of the world’s largest celebration of life.”
Elisse Glennon, Executive Director of the NJ Sharing Network Foundation, also underscored the magnitude of the Donate Life Transplant Games.
“The countdown is on as we are just a few months away from the Donate Life Transplant Games,” said Glennon. “While many things have changed in the last year, the mission of the Games remains the same – to highlight the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation and celebrate the success of transplantation, honor the last legacy of donors who gave the ultimate gift of life and to promote the state and national registries. This year’s reimagined hybrid format will bring all aspects of the traditional Transplant Games to life through both in-person activities and interactive online events.”
