NJ Transit recently announced the completion of exterior renovations at Mahwah Station. The upgrades display NJ Transit’s commitment to providing the best travel experience possible for their customers. The renovation project at the Mahwah Station is modernizing and enhancing the station with safety and aesthetic upgrades to improve its overall quality, creating a higher level of functionality at the station.
“With exterior upgrades now in place, Mahwah Station is already offering our customers a safer, more welcoming and more inviting space,” said NJ TRANSIT President & CEO Kris Kolluri. “It’s just one example of over 20 NJ TRANSIT station projects currently in progress, all aimed at strengthening the customer experience through thoughtful, long-term investment.”
The exterior renovations were composed of many smaller moves that led to the overall makeover of the Mahwah Station. Infrastructure improvements, such as the replacement of the station roof, retaining wall and a stairway, as well as the addition of new railings and the relocation of electrical equipment. Other upgrades include improved site drainage, a new concrete apron, aesthetic landscaping and new bike racks.
Additional exterior upgrades include improved lighting, partial brick repairs and upgraded information displays.
The station was able to provide uninterrupted services amidst all of the renovations taking place at the Mahwah Station. The renovations outline NJ Transit’s dedication to providing the best experience for customers. The exterior renovations were a big step in the first phase of NJ Transit’s project to revitalize Mahwah Station, while also preserving the historical significance that it holds within the town.
