Hackensack Meridian Health CEO Listed in Modern Healthcare’s Top 100 Most Influential People

Hackensack Meridian Health, New Jersey’s largest and most comprehensive health system, recently announced that their CEO Robert C. Garrett, FACHE, has been named as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare. This marks the third year in a row that Garrett has earned this honor.

Garrett is one of just 34 health systems and hospital CEOs recognized on the list. Additionally, he is the only one from New Jersey. The list acknowledges and honors those who are named by their peers and the senior editors of Modern Healthcare to be among the most influential people in the industry. Their influence is measured based on both leadership and impact.

“Bob Garrett is leading an extraordinary healthcare transformation in New Jersey and beyond,” said Keith Banks, chair, Hackensack Meridian Health Board of Trustees. “Bob’s visionary leadership inspires our team members, partners, and the broader community to embrace innovation in pursuit of a healthier future. We look forward to seeing how he will continue to raise the standard of excellence to meet the unique and ever-changing needs of the communities we proudly serve.”

Mr. Garrett has served the Hackensack Meridian Health organization for over four decades. Throughout his time with the organization, he has worked tirelessly to provide better patient outcomes and greater health equity.

Some of his most impressive accomplishments include leading network initiatives with the organization. Under his leadership, the network has been frequently recognized as one of the top providers in the Garden State. Mr. Garrett has also championed the establishment of the Hackensack Meridian Center for Discovery and Innovation (CDI). Additionally, he served as the chair of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Health and Healthcare Governor’s Community.

All of the work and time that he has committed to providing better quality care to all has led him to earn his spot on the list yet again. The honor serves as a token of the effort that he has put to improving healthcare in the Garden State.
