Many students are embracing the joy of their first American Christmas. The school’s mission is to create an inspiring space where children can learn English independently, guided by dedicated teachers who nurture their growth and development.
The 3rd annual Adopt-a-School program was created by the Leadership Team at Hackensack Meridian Palisades Medical Center and the Town of North Bergen. Palisades Medical Center leadership and team members will join in the celebration. Santa will also visit with Mrs.Claus and Santa’s elf, with a gift for every student.
“This time of year is magical for children, and we are thrilled to be a part of this wonderful celebration for the students at the Polk Street School,” said Lisa Iachetti, President and Chief Hospital Executive, Hackensack Meridian Palisades Medical Center.
“We look forward to this every year because it reminds us that the spirit of the holiday season is alive and well in the children that live in the communities that we serve,” Iachetti added.
According to the New Jersey Department of Education, 42.1% of students in North Bergen are Spanish speakers. The Polk Street School is dedicated to recognizing and validating its students’ diverse backgrounds, ensuring the preservation of their cultural heritage while fostering their development as global bilingual individuals.
