The popular Horseplay promotion is returning to the Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford, New Jersey from Friday, May 2 through Friday, Aug. 1, offering fans the chance to win cash prizes and a new 2025 Toyota GR86.

To enter, head to Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment on any live race night and visit the Players Club desk or the Horseplay table in front of the Winner’s Circle. Pick up a free horse and aim for the Horseplay promo car’s window for a chance to win.
How the Giveaway Works
Participants pick up a numbered horse and then attempt to throw it into the window of a moving car. All numbered horses making it into the car are entered into a random drawing for a $100 prize. The $100 winners gain one entry into the August car drawing.
After the Aug. 1 races, 27 total winners will be entered into a reverse drawing for a chance to win the 2025 Toyota GR86.

For every horse that makes it into the Horseplay car during the season, Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment is donating $5 to a designated charity.
Designated Charities
The May donation recipient is Bergen County Horse Rescue. Founded in 2016 with the sole purpose of helping horses in need, they strive to provide a safe, loving environment for our horses so they can freely interact with each other in their herds, with volunteers, and with visitors to the farm.
In June, the donation is earmarked for Food Brigade, whose mission is ensuring no one in New Jersey goes hungry, as well as establishing a food security network to assist those facing poverty and systemic inequalities.

Family Promise is the recipient of the July/August donation. This charity empowers working families facing housing insecurity to become self-sufficient by providing temporary housing and personalized support, and addressing food insecurity in the community daily.
Rules and Other Information
- 🐎 Horseplay takes place immediately following Race 6 every live race night.
- 🐎 Participants must be 18+ to sign up.
- 🐎 On each live race night, fill out the Horseplay form. Entrants who do not fill out the form
will not be eligible for the drawings. - 🐎 Pick up your FREE toy horse at the Players Club desk or Horseplay table in front of the Winner’s Circle. A number will be assigned to both the horse and your name. Limited # of horses available per night—once the supply is exhausted no more horses will be distributed.
- 🐎 After Race 6 line up on the boardwalk along the track. A moving car with windows open will head down the stretch. Try to throw your horse into the vehicle!
- 🐎 One horse will be drawn from all the horses that name it in. That person will receive a $100 voucher, as well as entry into the grand prize drawing to win the car. There will only be one winner race night, but you are allowed to win multiple nights meaning more chances of your name being drawn for the car!

After the horse toss children are allowed on the track to help collect all the horses that missed for a free ice cream coupon for free ice cream from the Café.
