According to Survey of Medical Professionals in Over 20 Countries
HSS has been rated the world’s #1 hospital for orthopedics for two consecutive years, based on a survey of doctors, health care professionals and hospital managers in over 20 countries worldwide.
Conducted by Newsweek and Statista, a global market research and consumer data firm, the “World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2022” report identifies the top hospitals globally across 10 specialties: cardiology, cardiac surgery, oncology, endocrinology, neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, gastroenterology, pulmonology, and pediatrics.
Newsweek and Statista note that “(specialized) hospitals are often at the forefront of scientific development in their medical fields and excel in certain surgeries or procedures which lead other hospitals or doctors to transfer their patients to these facilities to get the best treatment.”
According to Newsweek, this ranking aims to serve as a methodologically sound international ranking of specialized hospitals by medical fields and to help people know which hospitals have the most accomplished physicians and diagnosticians and offer the highest level of care.
“It is a tremendous honor to be acknowledged by our peers as the global leader in orthopedics,” said Bryan T. Kelly, MD, MBA, surgeon-in-chief and medical director at HSS. “This recognition underscores the responsibility we have to continue advancing the field of musculoskeletal health through world-class patient care, innovation, education and research.”
“Choosing a health care provider is a major decision, and authoritative rankings help patients make better informed choices,” said Louis A. Shapiro, president and CEO at HSS. “HSS is driven by our mission to help people get back to what they love to do better than any other place in the world, and we will continue to strive to make high-quality care accessible to all.”
