On Aug. 10, The Children’s Place, with the help of the Jonas Brothers, held an event at American Dream full of fun activities, music and philanthropy that was attended by hundreds of children and their families.
Earlier this year, the duo launched their Best School Day Ever Contest in collaboration with one another. The contest encouraged parents who had children in grades K-8 at a non-tuition based school to nominate their child’s school for the chance to win $100,000. The money would be put toward the improvement of the school as a whole.
The finalists of the contest wrote about the ways in which their school is in need of improvement and how the prize money would go towards helping them. The Children’s Place has narrowed their list down to just 10 finalists with students attending schools that range from Wall, NJ to Cottonwood, AZ.
“The Children’s Place is committed to giving back, and moreover, we understand the importance of access to education and supporting key moments that will shape children’s lives,” said Maegan Markee, Brand President of The Children’s Place. “We are proud to show our support and be able to make such a positive impact on so many children through our Best School Day Ever Contest and the $100,000 grand prize, in partnership with Jonas Brothers. After receiving thousands of responses, we couldn’t be more excited to announce our top 10 finalists, getting us one step closer to awarding the grand prize of $100,000 to a school that so very much needs the support.”
The finalists were in attendance at the event, where the Jersey-raised Jonas Brothers encouraged everyone to vote for the school that they believe should win the grand prize. Additionally, the Children’s Place will be giving away a $500 pre-paid card every hour of every day from now until August 31, totaling to over 500 winners, and a final value of more than $250,000.
Once someone casts their vote they will receive one chance to win the $500 pre-paid card. Votes can be cast either on The Children’s Place mobile app or website.
The event included a children’s fashion show, which showcased some of the brand’s latest back-to-school outfits, comprised of trending t-shirts, backpacks and stylish footwear. Those in attendance were also treated to a live performance from the Jonas Brothers where they performed three of their hit songs, including Celebrate!, Waffle House, and Leave Before You Love Me.

There was also a selection of fun activities for the children in attendance to participate in, including an interactive photo booth, book corner and balloon artist. The event was a fun time for everyone involved and gave children and their families an opportunity to enjoy themselves.
