Lyndhurst Police Department Welcomes Seven New Special Officers

On Jan. 10, the Lyndhurst Police Department welcomed seven new Class 1B Special Law Enforcement Officers to their agency. Prior to the January Board of Commissioners Meeting, Special Officer 1 Nicholas J. Caporrino, Special Officer 1 John C. Fernandez, Special Officer 1 Matthew E. Montoya, Special Officer 1 Nina Nassy, Special Officer 1 Mark Orlando, Special Officer 1 Daniel S. Rogers and Special Officer 1 Alexis J. Rossi were sworn in by Mayor & Public Safety Commissioner Robert B. Giangeruso. Before being sworn in, all officers completed basic training this past December at the Bergen County Police Academy.

Serving on a volunteer basis, all seven officers will complete an abundance of tasks including conducting preventative patrols and assisting the community in times of emergency. They will also be employed on a per-diem basis to aid with low-level security details, crowd management and traffic control.

These officers will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and peaceful environment in Lyndhurst, as well as ensuring the proper function of the Lyndhurst Police Department. The core values of the Lyndhurst Police Department are leadership, a ‘Yes We Can’ attitude, nobility, dedication, honor, unified efforts, respect, service and trust, which are all perfectly represented by these seven officers. They all embody the qualities and traits that Lyndhurst Police is proud to represent.
