School Districts: Learn More About Active Lethal Threats

Ensuring your own personal safety, as well as the safety of those around you is essential, especially today. To be able to provide yourself with the knowledge and ability to utilize technology with practical safety training can be a life-saving decision for some.

There have been 300 school shootings as of Dec. 20, 2022, which marks the largest number in over four decades. The 300 incidents compared to 250 in 2021, 114 in 2020 and 15 in 2010 shows the escalating and dangerous trend that we are facing.

These statistics also beg the question — is your district prepared in the event of an active lethal threat?

To help get better prepared, you are invited to a complimentary 4-hour training course led by Jesus Villahermosa. Villahermosa is a nationally-recognized expert in the area of active shooters, which he now refers to as active lethal threats due to the change in the killer’s attack tactics.

Serving as the point man of the entry team on the Pierce County Sheriff’s S.W.A.T. Team from 1983 to 2013, as well as being the deputy sheriff with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department from 1981 to 2014, Villahermosa is no stranger to facing dangerous situations. As a S.W.A.T. Team Member and someone with extensive anti-terrorism training, he has faced many life-and-death situations including active lethal threats.

Villahermosa started speaking professionally in 1986, using his own experience and expertise to discuss safety issues. He has trained over 775,000 professionals across the U.S. and Canada, and also taught courses at numerous colleges, school districts, and large corporations. His training seminars are a unique culmination of the vast knowledge he gained across various professions in law enforcement, as well as his practical application of techniques.

This in-person training event, sponsored by Conference Technologies, Atlas IED and the Meadowlands Chamber of Commerce, can help you:

  • Assess your current active shooter process
  • Identify any security gaps
  • Revise staff and student training procedures if they do not take the proper steps to ensure everyone’s safety
  • Create an actionable plan that has the ability to save lives

This training event is free of cost for all school Superintendents, SROs, Police Chiefs, and any stakeholder responsible for the well-being of students and staff in the State of New Jersey.

Breakfast and lunch are included at the in-person class, which will take place on Thursday, Jan. 19 starting at 8 a.m. at the Meadowlands Chamber, 1099 Wall St. West, Suite 110, Lyndhurst, NJ. Pre-registration is required and seating is limited. No walk-ins will be permitted.
