Meadowlands Racetrack Celebrates April 20 with First Ever Misfit Market

The Meadowlands Racing and Entertainment is hosting its first ever Misfit Market from Noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, a shopping experience featuring sports collectibles, vintage clothes, comic books, and much more.

The event also features meet-and-greets with former New York Ranger Nick Fotiu and Matthew Barnaby, New York Giants Super Bowl Champion Stephen Baker, and UFC icon Don Frye. Plus, there will be live ISPW wrestling matches. 

Later This Month at the Racetrack

The track will close out the month with a fusion pairing dinner along with another Comedy Night on Saturday, April 27, featuring Bonnie McFarlane.

McFarlane was named the “#1 funniest female you should know” by The Huffington Post and her award-winning comedy documentary “Women Aren’t Funny” proves just that. McFarlane can also be seen in the acclaimed web series “Cop Show” starring Jerry Seinfeld and Colin Quinn, and she also has a scripted comedy series in the works based on her 2016 memoir, “You’re Better Than Me.” 

The show will be held Trackside, on the ground floor of the racetrack. Doors open at 7 p.m.; the show starts at 8 p.m. Full bar and waitress service will be available. 

5-course Nikkei dinner with Peruvian ingredients

On Saturday, April 27, there will be a 5-course Nikkei dinner with Peruvian ingredients cooked using Japanese techniques. A $10 betting voucher and a live racing program are included in the $69.95 dining price. Make reservations by calling 201-TheBigM.

The menu includes:

  • Course 1: Ceviche Nikkei – Fresh seafood, lime juice, and aji pepper. Served with Pilsen Peruvian Beer 
  • Course 2: Trio of Causas Rolls: Served with Kirin Light Japanese Beer; Grilled Octopus with Chili Aji Panca Sauce & Chimichurri; Crab Meat with Acevichado Sauce; Shrimp in Oyster Sauce
  • Course 3: Char Siu Pork – Japanese BBQ pork with fried rice and pickled radish. Served with Sapporo Japanese Beer
  • Course 4: Miso Salmon – Salmon in miso sauce with roasted avocado and golden potatoes. Paired with Cusquena Peruvian Beer
  • Course 5: Lucuma Pecan Cheesecake – Lucuma is a Peruvian fruit with caramel/maple syrup flavors. Served with Cristal Peruvian Beer
