Meadowlands Racetrack Gears Up for March Madness, Other Fun

The Meadowlands Racetrack has a slate of fun and exciting activities planned for the month of March.

International Women’s Day Broadcast

International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 and serves as a day to highlight the women’s rights movement, as well as provide a voice to women in our community.

The Meadowlands Racetrack celebrates on March 4 with a broadcast highlighted by sizzle videos and interviews with the top female trainers, drivers and grooms in the horse racing industry, hosted by Jessica Otten and Ashley Mailloux.

March Madness

In the world of sports, March Madness is one of the most highly-anticipated events of the year, with 68 of the country’s best college basketball programs competing against each other in a single-elimination tournament to crown the most dominant team of the season.

March Madness games are set to begin on March 14 and will continue until a winner is decided during the NCAA championship game on April 3. As viewers across the state fill in brackets, hoping that they can go against the odds and construct the first perfect bracket, they will be to watch the games play out live on giant HDTVs at the FanDuel Sportsbook inside the Meadowlands Racetrack.

At the sportsbook, you can find dining options to fill your nutritious needs and a wide selection of self-service and teller operated wagering machines. Guaranteed seating for Mar. 16, 17, 18 and 19 is available for avid sports watchers to grab. Tickets can be pre-purchased for $50 single bar seat, $100 per two person table and $200 for a four person table; food credit is included in the purchase of these tickets.

St. Patrick’s Day Buffet

Guests looking to sport the green and orange in honor of St. Patrick’s Day can do so at the Meadowlands Racetrack on Friday, Mar. 17 and Saturday, Mar. 18. There they will be able to dine at Pink, the track’s tiered dining room, where a buffet featuring traditional St. Patrick’s Day cuisine will be served. Among the dishes included in the buffet are beef potpies, corned beef and cabbage, Irish lamb stew, potato pancakes and baked flounder. For those with a sweet tooth, homemade whiskey cake and Shamrock cookies will also be included in this $49.95 dinner.

Aaron Kelly Live

On Saturday, March 25, former American Idol contestant, Aaron Kelly, will be taking the stage to perform at the Meadowlands Racetrack.

Kelly is most widely known for being the youngest artist to reach the Top 5 on American Idol, having finished 5th in the ninth season of the show in 2010.

The performance will run from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., meaning that guests will be able to catch some live racing before the show, as racing will kick off at 6:20 p.m. Tickets cost $25.

Redesigned Gallery Available

If you are looking for a place to hold a corporate event, viewing party or family celebration, the Meadowlands Racetrack recently opened its newly redesigned Gallery. The Gallery is a perfect venue for a March tournament viewing party and can provide guests with new event possibilities.
