Meadowlands Racetrack Hosts Free Handicapping Contest for Fans 18-30

The Meadowlands is hosting its annual 30 & Under Handicapping contest on Saturday, Aug. 31.

The free handicapping contest is exclusively for fans between 18 and 30 and offers a $5,000 total prize pool. There are prize payouts to the top four finishers. 

Fans may register in the clubhouse lobby until 6:30 p.m. on the night of the contest. There is no entry fee.

The contest format requires players to make a mythical $2 “across the board” wager on one horse in races 2 – 11 at the Meadowlands. The winner is the contestant who amasses the highest mythical bankroll from their selections.

All contest participants will receive a free program, a $10 betting voucher, and treated to a $20 food voucher.

The prize payouts to the top five finishers are as follows:

• 1st – $2,000
• 2nd – $1,500
• 3rd – $1,000
• 4th – $500

Breeder’s Crown Charity Challenge

The Breeders Crown Charity Challenge was conceived to create positive relationships with the local community, raise awareness, and fund local charities. This Challenge has already raised over $1.5 Million to date!

In celebration of this year’s participating charities, Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment is hosting a Family Fun Day at the track. There will be pony rides, face painting, and other family-friendly activities to enjoy from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Backyard.

The Challenge, which runs Aug. 30 – Oct. 19, consists of four teams which compete throughout the fall to raise money for their team charity. Teams compete by earning points through various Challenge events and fan voting.

The team with the most points at the end of the Challenge will receive 40% of the total money donated to their team charity; the other three charities will receive 25%, 17.5% and 17.5% respectively. .

People are encouraged to vote each day of the challenge for their favorite team. The Team with the most votes at the end of the Challenge will receive an additional 100 points; 2nd place will receive 75 points; 3rd place will receive 50 points, and 4th place will receive 25 points. Voting will be available when polls are opened.
