The Meadowlands Racetrack’s Annual Charity Handicapping Contest has been scheduled for Saturday, May 25th. Charities looking to participate should register by Thursday, May 16th.
The Charity Contest is a free handicapping contest open to 501(c)(3) organizations. It offers a $15,000 total donation/prize pool, with all 10 charities receiving a donation, going as follows:
1st Place: $5,000
2nd Place: $3,000
3rd Place: $2,000
4th Place: $1,500
5th Place: $1,000
6th-10th place: $500
For the handicapping contest, each participating organization will select one horse in each of the 10 designated Meadowlands live races happening that day. The organization will amass a mythical bankroll if their selection finishes first, second, or third in the designated race, with the organization accumulating the highest mythical bankroll being declared the winner. Official $2 WPS (Win, Place, Show) payoffs will be added to the mythical bankroll.
Participating organizations also have the opportunity to make winner’s circle presentations and to be featured on the track’s jumbotron.
Interested 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations must apply to participate by emailing Rachel Ryan at raryan@playmeadowlands.com by Thursday, May 16th. The email must include:
- Charity/Non-Profit Name
- 501(c)(3) letter
- Charity/Non-Profit Mission
- Website URL & Social Links
- Charity Representative/s that will be onsite for the contest on May 25th.
If more than 10 charities apply to participate, participants will be selected by random drawing. Selected organizations will be notified by Friday, May 17th.
