Fans can meet New York Yankees World Series hero Jim Leyritz on Friday, Oct. 18, at the Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford, New Jersey. There will also be a special Q&A moderated by New York Times bestselling author Todd Ehrlich.
Leyritz will provide career highlights, speak about the current Yankees and their playoff chances, and take questions from the audience.
The event runs from 7-8:30 p.m. in the 2nd-floor Lounge. Seating is first come, first served, with food and beverages available for purchase.
Guests are encouraged to come early to take in the live harness racing card featuring eliminations for the Breeders Crown. Live turf racing is also scheduled for 7 p.m., following the day harness card.
As a bonus, guests will receive copies of Ehrlich’s 20 Greatest Moments in New York Sports. History: Our Generation of Memories, From 1960 to Today, and be entered into a drawing to win an autographed Leyritz baseball.
A retired professional baseball catcher and infielder, Leyritz was a NY Yankees during the 1996 and 1999 World Series championships. He also played with numerous other teams, including the Anaheim Angels, Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox, San Diego Padres, and LA Dodgers.
