Celebrate the national cocktail of Brazil — the caipirinha — at Fogo de Chão at the Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey or the Willowbrook Mall location in Wayne, New Jersey, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12.
The caipirinha is a muddled drink made with cachaça, lime, and sugar. The name “caipirinha” literally means “little rural one” or “country bumpkin” in English, but in Brazil it refers to the drink itself.
This Brazilian specialty is handcrafted traditionally and also is made with a variety of flavors, such as Strawberry Hibiscus, Mango Habanero, or Passion Fruit. Traditional and flavors can be crafted with either silver or gold cachaça. Food suggestions include Brazilian empanadas, bacon-wrapped steak, Queijo Assado, and more.
The Bar Fogo Party at the Garden State Plaza is $29 per person, plus tax and gratuity. The price includes two premium caipirinhas and passed bar bites.
The New York City events will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 11.
About Fogo de Chão
The international brand opened its third New Jersey location in 2023 at Bridgewater Commons in Bridgewater following its first N.J. launch in Paramus and then in Wayne. The openings were part of the chain’s larger global expansion efforts.
Founded in 1979, Fogo de Chão serves grilled, seasoned meats cooked churrasco-style on skewers and then carved at the table by the chefs, known as gauchos. Its menus for lunch, dinner, weekend brunch and group dining also feature chicken, lamb, pork, seafood and salads.
It rolled out in the U.S. in 1997 with its very first location in Dallas, Texas, and now has over 70 restaurants. Fogo de Chão restaurants can be found throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, Brazil, Mexico, Dubai and Saudi Arabia, including a flagship in New York City.
The eatery recently expanded its presence in the greater Houston metropolitan area with the signing of two new lease agreements in Cypress, Texas, and Katy, Texas. This will be its 4th and 5th Houston area locations.
