Valerie Fund Receives $7,500 From Kearny Bank

For the second consecutive year, Kearny Bank has contributed to The Valerie Fund, a Maplewood-based organization that provides support to children with cancer and blood disorders. For 2022, the bank has donated $7,500 and will also have a team of employees participating in the September 17 The Valerie Fund 5K Walk/Run fundraising event, in Verona.

Founded in 1977, The Valerie Fund operates a network of seven centers located at hospitals in New Jersey, Manhattan, and Philadelphia. The organization emphasizes providing each patient and their family with a team of specialists who provide consistent, unconditional support.

“The Valerie Fund’s mission in supporting children with cancer and blood disorders would not be possible without the support of organizations like Kearny Bank,” says Leah Del Piano, The Valerie Fund Event Fundraising Manager. “Through sponsorship and team efforts, Kearny Bank continues to allow The Valerie Fund to provide top notch care to over 6,000 children in New Jersey, New York and the metro Philadelphia area. We are so grateful for the support of Kearny Bank.”

Kearny Bank President/CEO Craig Montanaro notes: “The Valerie Fund does remarkable work for some young people who are very much in need, and our company is proud to be a regular contributor. I’m also quite proud of the bank employees who’ve volunteered to participate in this year’s 5K fundraising event. There’s been an outpouring of enthusiasm and generosity that’s truly heartwarming.”

Kearny Bank’s 5K team is headed by captains Dawn Marcano, 2nd Vice President/Private Client Manger and Michael Gambatese, Vice President/Business Relationship Officer. Further details about the Kearny Bank team – including how to contribute – are available at https://bit.ly/3Rkc9OB.
