New Jersey Lottery’s Rock Paper Scissors Throwdown Set to Return to American Dream This April with Chance to Win $10,000

From Apr. 10-12, American Dream will be hosting the New Jersey Lottery Rock Paper Scissors Throwdown. The competition marks the second rendition of the New Jersey Lottery-led event, which takes a classic game and ups the stakes, as players compete for $25,000 in prize pool money. The three-day long event is available to adults over the age of 18.

Competitors will battle it out in the nostalgic game of chance, with one lucky winner walking away with the grand prize of $10,000. Whether it’s pure luck or comes with an intricate strategy, the winner will have to pull out all the stops to claim the top prize.

At last year’s competition, the winner, Kevin Wang, outlasted 383 other competitors to earn the $10,000 grand prize. This year, it is once again anyone’s game, with 384 competitors set to return to East Rutherford, New Jersey in an attempt to win the grand prize.

The event offers plenty of entertainment outside of the competition, as there will be a press conference featuring event producer Howard Freeman and New Jersey Lottery executives. Additionally, there will be tons of entertainment at the mall, from the stores to food, allowing guests and competitors to enjoy themselves in the meantime.

The matches will consist of “best three out of five”, where the first person to win three games in a five match set moves on. However, the finals will switch to a “best four out of seven” format to crown a winner. The winner will earn the $10,000 grand prize, while the remaining top 12 finishers will split a share of the $25,000 prize pool.

All participants must bring proper ID to the competition, in order to confirm their age. They must also be available to attend both days of the tournament.
