New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority Announces 2026 Pontoon Boat Tour Season Registration is Underway

The New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority (NJSEA) recently announced that registration for the 2026 Pontoon Boat Tour season had begun. The highly anticipated program runs on varying weekday evenings and Saturday mornings from June 2 to Sept. 26. Pre-registration for the program is required, with registration forms available to be found at njsea.com.

In the tours, NJSEA guides lead a two-hour trip through the Meadowlands section of the Hackensack River. During the tour, guides discuss the Meadowlands’ history, environmental comeback and flourishing ecosystem. Guides will point out the various types of wildlife that can be found during this trip, offering a great connection to nature.

Also discussed during the trip is the NJSEA’s scientific research, restoration and monitoring initiatives. These initiatives have played a major role in creating a deeper knowledge and improved status of the river.

“NJSEA pontoon boat tours provide the public with an opportunity to appreciate the

Meadowlands’ scenic beauty and wildlife up-close while learning about the vital importance of

conserving and protecting the region’s natural resources,” said Jill Hirsch, President and CEO of

the NJSEA. “I invite everyone to join us on the Authority’s engaging, insightful and relaxing

boat tours.”

NJSEA’s Pontoon Boat Tours are free to attend and depart from River Barge Park, 260 Outwater Lane, Carlstadt, New Jersey. All attendees must be 10 years of age or older. Upon request, group tours are also available. Boat trips are uncovered and can fill up to 12 people, though spots can be taken fast, so early registration is encouraged.
