NHL Stadium Series Kicks Off This Weekend at MetLife Stadium

Hockey fans should gear up for a big weekend as the 2024 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series is coming to MetLife Stadium, inundating the venue with over 130,000 fans within a 24-hour window, an unprecedented celebration of the sport of ice hockey.

Devils v.s. Flyers on Feb. 17

The first game, slated for Feb. 17 at 8 p.m., will pit the New Jersey Devils up against the Philadelphia Flyers. Having entered play on Feb. 9, the teams own the 1st and the 3rd seeds in the Metropolitan Division respectively.

Headlining the event will be platinum-certified, GRAMMY-award nominated group The Jonas Brothers, hailing from New Jersey, who will be performing both at opening and at halftime. Featured in the performance will be a selection of the group’s greatest hits, and several songs from their newest studio album, “The Album.”

“What a dream to open for the Devils in our home state,” said The Jonas Brothers. “We’re super excited to be at MetLife Stadium and open up the great NHL Stadium Series weekend in front of hometown friends, family, and thousands of hockey fans.”

Also performing that night will be the award-winning rock band Gaslight Anthem, with their fan-favorite song “Howl,” beloved by Devils fans as the team’s goal song for several seasons. The critically acclaimed band, hailing from New Brunswick, NJ, will also be performing several of their greatest hits at the game’s first intermission.

Rangers v.s. Islanders on Feb. 18

The second game, happening within 24 hours of the first, will see the New York Rangers go up against the New York Islanders in an epic continuation of the Battle of New York rivalry started by the Islanders’ introduction in the 1972-73 season.

Featured at the game will be a performance by up-and-coming pop icons AJR, coming to the Meadowlands fresh off their “The Maybe Man Tour.” The brothers Met, natives of New York City, will perform their greatest hits in the intermission between the first and second period.
