Forbes has recently named NJ Transit to its ‘America’s Best-in-State Employers’ 2026 list for the eight consecutive year. For the fourth year in a row, NJ Transit was ranked No. 1 in the Transportation and Logistics category in New Jersey. The survey examines leading companies from across the globe, identifying those that are most-highly viewed by their employees.
“For eight straight years, our employees have told Forbes that NJ TRANSIT is a place they would recommend to their own friends and family, and there is no higher compliment an employer can receive,” said NJ TRANSIT President & CEO Kris Kolluri. “That culture was on full display this summer, when our team moved more than 370,000 customers during the FIFA World Cup with the skill and enthusiasm that define this organization.”
The recognition strengthens NJ Transit’s commitment to excellence, working to provide efficient transportation for residents in and around the Garden State. Earning this achievement once again is a testament to the work that NJ Transit puts in to giving its employees a desirable workplace environment. The feelings of employees can directly reflect a company’s success, as when they are more invested in the company, they are more likely to dedicate themselves to working harder to maintain its success.
Employees were given two different types of evaluations when filling out Forbes’ survey, which consisted of personal evaluations and public evaluations. Personal evaluations looked at how willing employees were to recommend their employers to friends and family, while public evaluations looked at recommendations from friends and family of employees, as well as workers in the same industry. No more than 100 employers in each state were recognized, making NJ Transit’s achievement even more meaningful.
