NJ Transit Offers Additional Service to Bring in the New Year

This holiday season, NJ Transit will be offering extra service for guests. Customers will have more travel options and flexibility when it comes to getting to events or other holiday-related activities.

For the entire month of December, NJ Transit has been offering customers its SuperSaver Fare, which allows two children up to the age of 11 to travel for free with a fare-paying adult. This deal will be effective until Jan. 6 at 6 a.m.

On New Year’s Eve, trains will operate on a modified weekday schedule, with there being additional service to Hoboken and New York during the evening. Once the clock strikes midnight, there will be extra late-night trains on all rail lines with the exception of the Atlantic City Line.

On New Year’s Day, after 6 a.m., all trains will operate on a weekend/major holiday schedule across all rail lines. It is important to keep in mind that no beverages of any sort, whether open or closed, are allowed on the trains. From Dec. 31 to Jan. 1, the policy will be enforced especially with increased travel.
