NJSBDC of Northwest Jersey has new home at Fairleigh Dickinson University

Fairleigh Dickinson University Partners with NJSBDC to Host
Northwest Jersey Center
America’s SBDC New Jersey, also known as the New Jersey Small Business Development Centers (NJSBDC) statewide network, partners with Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) to become the full-time Host for the NJSBDC of Northwest Jersey servicing Morris, Sussex, and Warren counties. The center, currently housed in The Station in Chatham, will now be known as the NJSBDC at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Fairleigh Dickinson University to the NJSBDC family.” Says NJSBDC CEO and State Director Kelly Brozyna.  “Fairleigh Dickinson has been very active in entrepreneurship for quite some time, so we know that this partnership is a perfect pairing to help the small and mid-sized businesses of Morris, Sussex, Warren counties.”

The NJSBDC at Fairleigh Dickinson University will continue to provide support, training, consulting, technical assistance, and connection to resources for entrepreneurs and small to mid-sized business owners at any stage of their journey from ideation to structure for acquisition or merger activities.

The NJSBDC will be part of Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Silberman College of Business, which also touts the Rothman Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

“I am thrilled to have Silberman College of Business partner with the NJSBDC”. Says Pierre Balthazard, Dean and Professor of FDU’s Silberman College of Business.  He continues, “The combination of NJSBDC’s high-quality team, the competencies of our Rothman Institute, and the increased involvement of our students and faculty, I see FDU enhancing its support for small businesses and entrepreneurial endeavors across the state, and assuming an important economic development role in the communities we serve.

The primary office of the NJSBDC at Fairleigh Dickinson University is currently at The Station in Chatham. A grand opening of the space will take place in the spring. The NJSBDC is also working with potential partners to create additional satellite offices throughout Morris, Sussex, and Warren counties to expand the service reach for the businesses needing assistance.  Entrepreneurs and business owners can apply for services through the NJSBDC network and then be matched with the consultant that best suits their business and needs.

The NJSBDC at Fairleigh Dickinson University is part of the NJSBDC Statewide Network, which is a program hosted by Rutgers Business School in Newark. The NJSBDC programs are funded in part through the NJ Business Action Center (NJBAC) as well as through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
