Rumor Confirmed: Winning Powerball Jackpot Ticket Sold in Bergen County

Everyone has heard by now: someone in New Jersey — rumored to have purchased the ticket in Bergen County — is $847 million richer today after a single ticket won the Powerball jackpot.

The ninth-largest jackpot in Powerball history, and the second-largest so far this year, the winning ticket matched all six numbers: 15, 34, 41, 53, 56, with the Powerball of 21.

The winning ticket was sold in Bergen County at the Wegmans in Montvale, New Jersey, Lottery officials said in a statement. Wegmans in Montvale received a $30,000 bonus check, awarded by New Jersey State Treasurer Aaron Binder and New Jersey Lottery Executive Director James Carey on Thursday, Nov. 5, during a presentation and press conference.

Bergen County leads the state in lottery winnings, with over $32.6 million so far in 2026, including a Meadowlands winner from Lyndhurst, who won close to $29 million in Cash4Life, sold at Krauszer’s Liquor Wine & Food Store in Rutherford. It also includes the $847 million Powerball jackpot win on Nov. 4, in Montvale.

Wegmans Food Market at 100 Farm View in Montvale is the chain’s only Bergen County location; it opened in September 2017. The privately held, family-owned supermarket is over 100 years old, headquartered in Rochester, New York, and has more than 100 stores across nine states, with about half in New York. Wegmans has nine locations in New Jersey.
