Score Some Super Bowl Sunday Fun in the Meadowlands

When Super Bowl LVII kicks off on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m., the Meadowlands will be ready, with local pubs, eateries, and entertainment venues featuring game day menus, drink specials and more.

The Meadowlands Racetrack is offering a VIP View Party in its newly re-designed Gallery on Sunday, with 2007 Super Bowl Champion Amani Toomer and PIX11/WFAN host Marc Malusis. A pre-game Q&A with Toomer is included and an array of signed NY Giants merchandise. The new space has lounge seating, wall to wall televisions and overlooks the FanDuel Sportsbook.

Gallery doors open 5:30 p.m., Q&A 6 p.m., game time 6:30 p.m. Seating is first come, first serve – and will include a mix of high-top tables, lounge chairs and couches. The cost is $60 per person (including tax & tip) for a game day buffet featuring wings with a three sauces — buffalo, sweet n’ spicy and  bbq — plus hot dogs, burgers, fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers.

Dining on game day is also available in the Grandstand Lounge, where reservations cost $50 for a single bar seat, $100 per two person table and $200 for a four person table.

Super Bowl weekend, the racetrack is also raffling off five HD televisions: two 55-inch; two 65-inch; and one 70-inch. Live harness racing takes place on Friday and Saturday, with an optional Valentine’s Day buffet at Pink, the track’s tiered dining room.

For people planning to throw Super Bowl gatherings at home, Biggie’s clam bar in Carlstadt and Vesta Wood Fired Italian restaurant in East Rutherford are both offering catering menus in addition to in-restaurant special at the bar.

“On Super Bowl Sunday we typically go through about 1,200 wings in our catering service alone,” said Mike Ranuro, manager of Biggie’s. “We do get a number of people in the bar that are looking to congregate with friends or family, or perhaps some place to watch the game. We’ll have the game on all 11 TVs in the bar room and a special football menu with special deals on food and drinks, as well.”

Morton’s The Steakhouse, location in Hackensack, is offering tailgate packages to satisfy customers’ gameday appetite. Among the options are the “Prop Bet,” which costs $119 and serves 6; the “Pre-Game,” which costs $179 and serves 8; and the “Halftime,” which costs $199 and serves 10. Courtyard by Marriott in Edgewater, located on the Hudson River, is offering $1 off drinks and appetizers on Super Bowl Sunday.

At Wayback Burgers in Secaucus, customers can join in an app-based Super Bowl. When either team makes a field goal on Super Bowl Sunday, participants can get 50% off an order made through the Wayback app on Feb. 13 and Feb. 14. If neither team is able to put the ball through the upright from 50 yards out, fans will still be walking away happy, however, as Wayback Burgers will have a special treat for them on Feb. 13.

For entertainment in the days leading up to the big game, Redd’s Bar & Restaurant will be hosting Meadowlands Comedy Club’s 3rd Annual Super Bowl of Comedy Show. The show will take place on Friday, Feb. 10 with a 9 p.m. showtime. The show will be hosted by Mario Lucena and will feature comedians VJ Preziosi, Tom Nemec, Troy Hughes, Akudo Ejelonu, Marina Petrova and Gary Sharp. For tickets, visit meadowlandscomedyclub.com.

On Super Bowl Sunday, The Shannon Rose in Clifton is planning a wide selection of food and drink specials to celebrate game day. For $75, there’s an unlimited buffet and drink package during the game, plus giveaways, raffles and a shot wheel.

“We have $4 Bud Light drafts and aluminum bottles, $5 Tito’s-mixed drinks, $6 Sam Adams lagers and a variety of different packages,” said a manager at The Shannon Rose.

Some of the packages offered by the pub include the “First Down,” which consists of sliders, tater tots and boneless wings, the “Field Goal Package,” containing sliders, pizza, nachos and mac & cheese egg rolls and the “Touchdown Package,” which features sliders, a cheese pizza, a pepperoni pizza and boneless wings.
