Red Bulls Arena in Harrison, New Jersey is now renamed Sports Illustrated Stadium in a 13-year partnership agreement inked on Wednesday, Dec. 11. Financial terms were not disclosed but the deal is expected to be in excess of $100 million.
The venue is also envisioned as a training site during the 2026 World Cup for teams preparing for matches at MetLife Stadium Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The 25,000-seat Red Bull Arena, opened in 2010, has been home of the Major League Soccer (MLS) team owned since 2006 by Red Bull GmbH. Red Bull GmbH also controls RB Leipzig in the German Bundesliga and Red Bull Salzburg in Austria.
“We are thrilled to announce a groundbreaking long-term partnership with Sports Illustrated Tickets and the iconic Sports Illustrated brand,” said RBNY president Marc de Grandpré.
Iconic sports magazine Sports Illustrated (SI) and ticketing marketplace Sports Illustrated Tickets, owned by the Authentic Brands Group (ABG) — independent from the media publication — paid for the rights to use the 70-year-old publication’s name, that signed the stadium rights deal with MLS club owner Red Bull.
ABG bought SI from Meredith in 2019 for $110 million in a deal that included the brand’s trademarks, photo archive, and book inventory.
Sports Illustrated Tickets will also take over as the “Official Ticketing Partner” for all events at Sports Illustrated Stadium beginning in 2026. This includes all New York Red Bulls and NJ/NY Gotham FC home matches, as well as all international soccer games, youth events, concerts, watch parties, and other events held at the stadium.
“Our shared values and unwavering commitment to delivering an unparalleled guest experience will further cement Sports Illustrated Stadium as a premier destination for sports and entertainment in the metropolitan area,” de Grandpré said, adding they could not be more privileged to have the new Red Bulls home called Sports Illustrated Stadium.
“… we eagerly anticipate creating unforgettable memories for all our fans and guests,” de Grandpré added.
This marks the first stadium naming rights partnership in Sports Illustrated’s 70-year history.
“Seeing Sports Illustrated Stadium for the first time is truly a historic and awe-inspiring moment,” said David Lane, CEO of Sports Illustrated Tickets. “For seven decades, Sports Illustrated has represented the best in sports and culture.
“Through this global partnership and iconic venue, we aim to showcase our vast portfolio of media, live event ticketing, hospitality and fan experiences as we continue to partner with leagues, teams, artists and venues around the world. Sports Illustrated Stadium is much more than just a venue — it’s a celebration of history, innovation and the unforgettable experiences that unite us all,” Lane said.
Sports Illustrated Tickets plans to integrate its popular digital Sports Illustrated Fan Cover experience at all stadium events.
Additionally, Sports Illustrated Tickets will serve as “Official Fan Experience Partner” for the stadium and the New York Red Bulls, and bring “Club SI” — its best-in-class hospitality experience — to Sports Illustrated Stadium. Club SI will deliver VIP access, food, beverages, live entertainment and affordable packages for fans and families.
