Subway Offers Up Flying Footlongs and Deals for True Believers on World UFO Day

Subway is celebrating World UFO Day with flying footlongs in select cities and special deals everywhere from June 24 through July 1.

Although there won’t be drones delivering the Ultimate Footlong anywhere in New Jersey, the deals still apply. Consumers get 20% off any Footlong Sub when ordered with a Footlong Dipper and Footlong Cookie. Use the promo code UFODAY on the Subway App or Subway.com.

What is World UFO Day?

World UFO Day commemorates two separate dates — June 24 and July 2. The June 24 date recognizes the first widely reported UFO sighting in 1947 by aviator Kenneth Arnold. The July 2 date commemorates the commemorates the alleged alien crash in Roswell, New Mexico.

The days are intended to mark the worldwide curiosity of life outside of Earth, with enthusiastic alien believers holding parades, scientific discussions, and sky-watching events.

New Jersey is actually a hotspot for UFO sightings, according to the National UFO reporting center, a non-governmental nonprofit organization celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. There were 77 reports of UFO sightings in the Garden State last year and five this year so far.
