About Stew Leonard’s
Founded in 1969 by Stew Leonard Sr. as a single store in Norwalk with seven employees, the company now has eight supermarkets in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey. The chain has more than 2,500 employees and does over $600 million in annual sales.
As customers walk through the aisles, they are greeted by employees dressed up in costumes and by singing and dancing animatronic characters called the “Farm Fresh Five.” The store is known for its selection of dairy, meats, seafood, produce, bakery items, cheese and prepared foods.
