The Meadowlands Showcases at Connect Travel Marketplace

Meadowlands Live! | Convention & Visitors Bureau (MLCVB), along with a team of executives from other destination marketing organizations across New Jersey, are currently down in Florida at Connect Travel Marketplace, an international travel show. They are promoting the tourism assets that New Jersey has to offer to a targeted audience of travel operators, with the aim of attracting more visitors from around the globe.

“I am pleased to meet with a great number of international operators to educate them on the Meadowlands and all that it offers,” says Meadowlands Chamber & Meadowlands Live! Vice President Judith Ross. “These operators bring groups and individual travelers who are looking for unique experiences along with great value and our region affords them both.”

Connect Travel Marketplace is an International travel show, specifically designed to address industry needs. Connect Travel Marketplace combines the right timing for product development, a unique format that creates an efficient and effective environment to expedite the sales process and close business and a robust educational track to inspire and inform industry leaders in a rapidly evolving global market.

The MLCVB, a subsidiary of the Meadowlands Chamber, was founded in 2004 and is supported by a state grant from the NJ Division of Travel & Tourism. It is the destination marketing organization charged with boosting the tourism and hospitality industry (which they’ve combined to be ‘hospitourism’) and bringing in visitors to the many tourism assets the Meadowlands has to offer.

Hospitourism—including our hotels, retail, attractions, meeting spaces, recreation, sports and entertainment facilities—is a revenue-generating, job-creating, community-supporting and reputation-building industry with a longstanding legacy here in the Meadowlands. It is a growing industry statewide increasing about three percent annually, but it is particularly thriving here in the Meadowlands—more than double the state overall.

One of the many activities that the MLCVB engages in to promote tourism is participating in New Jersey delegation at regional, national and international trade shows to showcase the region’s tourism assets to a targeted audience of meeting planners.
