UMC Foundation Welcomes Three New Members to Board of Trustees

The United Methodist Communities (UMC) Foundation recently announced the appointment of three new members to its Board of Trustees. Norris Clark, Layne Gordon and Lisa Kaufman all offer industry experience and perspectives that can promote the UMC Foundation’s mission, through leadership and new partnerships.

“Since joining the UMC Foundation team, it’s been my honor to work with our talented Board of Trustees to expand our fundraising initiatives and further our mission of providing abundant life for seniors,” reflected Foundation Vice President Jim Roberts. “Norris, Layne, and Lisa are qualified and outstanding additions to our Board, whose wide-reaching experiences and skill sets will complement those of our longstanding Trustees.”

Norris Clark recently transitioned from his role as Managing Partner of Princeton Strategic Communications, where he led award-winning PR and brand campaigns throughout multiple sectors, including non-profits. Clark is now seeking to devote more of his time to ventures that reflect his personal beliefs, including his strong commitment to improving senior care in New Jersey.

As the Head of Business Operations for Travel Plaza Media and President of Acme Funding, Layne Gordon has over 30 years of experience with business consulting, legal practice and entrepreneurial leadership. Gordon has aided many startups in building plans for long-term sustainability. His personal experience of helping his father-in-law navigate senior living options contributed to his appreciation for quality senior care.

Lisa Kaufman, a Senior Project Manager at Walsh Company and a LEED Accredited Professional, brings much expertise in the field of project management and real estate development. Kaufman has led complex construction and renovation projects for several firms. Kaufman’s connection to the UMC Foundation came through its Vice President Jim Roberts.

“Our communities and residents depend on the critical support that the UMC Foundation provides,” said Mark Lenhard, UMC President and CEO, “so to know that their Board of Trustees is equipped with best-in-field guidance reaffirms our confidence that, together, we will continue delivering compassionate services and meaningful connections for the seniors we serve.”

The UMC Foundation is dedicated to supporting older adults, as they seek to provide them with the highest quality of life. Through community-driven projects and programs, the UMC Foundation is able to turn these efforts into a reality for many seniors.
