Hackensack Meridian Health Hackensack University Medical Center was ranked number one in New Jersey by U.S. News & World Report for the second consecutive year, according to its annual Best Hospitals list released on Tuesday (July 16).
In 2023–2024, Hackensack University Medical Center was the only hospital in New Jersey ranked first for adults and children. It was also ranked sixth in the New York Metropolitan area and 32nd in the country. Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune ranked fourth in the state.
Hackensack Meridian Health is home to Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital, also ranked number one in the state, and the John Theurer Cancer Center. Hackensack University Medical Center is also nationally ranked in six specialties — orthopedics, cardiology, heart and vascular surgery, geriatrics, and pulmonary and lung surgery.
