The first event will be taking place on Friday, Sept. 11, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., as Hall of Famer Dave Winfield visits the stadium for a book signing. Winfield spent 22 years in the MLB, with a majority of his playing time spent with the New York Yankees and San Diego Padres. Winfield will be talking about his new book, Touching All the Bases: A Story of Power, Purpose, and Surviving the Bronx, which looks at his time with the New York Yankees. Admission to the event is $40 and includes museum admission and a signed book.
The following day, on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Yogi Berra Stadium will be holding a panel discussion on baseball, the Presidents and the military, blending America’s history with the nation’s pastime. The panel discussion is included with museum admission.
To round up an eventful weekend, on Sunday, Sept. 13, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., the stadium will be hosting a talk about the book Out of the Mouth of Babe by author Kelly Bennett, focusing on Babe Ruth, one of baseball’s most iconic names. Ruth’s great-grandson, Brent Stevens, and Stu Dressler, a friend of the Ruth-Stevens family who worked on the book with Bennett, will be discussing the book, in addition to Ruth’s life and legacy. Fans can purchase the book and museum admission for $25.
The following week, on Sunday, Sept. 20, the stadium’s annual celebration of Yogi Berra, whom the venue is named after, will be taking place. The event is free to the public, allowing everyone the opportunity to honor Berra’s legacy. It will be taking place from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Berra spent 19 years with the New York Yankees, winning 10 World Series as a vital member of some of the franchise’s best rosters.
Guests can check out the temporary exhibition, ‘Yogi: All the Presidents’ Man’, which will be on display through Sept. 27. There are also activities for children to enjoy, a gift shop to bring home souvenirs commemorating the trip and countless pieces honoring Berra’s legacy.
