The Boss and The Bear are filming all over the Garden State and need extras to play “1980s types” for a film based on the 2023 book Deliver Me From Nowhere, a biopic about the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska.
The Bruce Springsteen biopic stars Emmy winner Jeremy Allen White as a younger Springsteen in a 20th Century Studios film was written and directed by Crazy Heart‘s Scott Cooper and based on Warren Zanes’ book of the same name.
No release date has yet been announced for the 20th Century Studios project. It’s filming across New Jersey in November, December, and January.
“Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska has profoundly shaped my artistic vision,” Cooper told Spin.
Film extras must be available for shoots Dec. 9 to 13 and 16 in Asbury Park, according to Grant Wilfley Casting.
Applicants must be okay working inside and outside, have no allergies to wool, and be okay working around atmospheric smoke. GWC is requesting full day/night availability for the shoot dates.
Height, weight, and clothing sizes are requested for costuming purposes only and applicants must be able to present valid ID to complete Federal I9 forms for payment, which is $176 for 10 hours of work, GWC said.

The album’s title comes from the Nebraskan serial killer Charles Starkweather who murdered 11 people in the Great Plains between 1957 and 1958.
