YouTube is integrating its own AI tools with a suite of features designed to make creativity on YouTube more playful and effortless than ever before.
The news was announced at YouTube’s “Made on YouTube” live event held at Pier 57 in New York City on Tuesday, Sept. 17. YouTube introduced new generative AI tools for Shorts creators as well as a custom version of Google’s text-to-video generative AI model, Veo 3.

Finally, we’re expanding our likeness detection tool, which allows creators to detect and manage videos made with AI using their facial likeness, coming soon to all YouTube Partner Program creators in an open beta.
Here’s a deeper dive into Studio.
“We didn’t just create a platform. We built an economy,” said YouTube CEO Neal Mohan.
Win-Win for Creators
“We see AI as the next evolution of these tools — designed to empower human creativity and storytelling. But make no mistake — no studio, network, tech company, or AI tool will own the future of entertainment. That power belongs to you — the creators.”
YouTube partnered with Google DeepMind for a custom version of video generation model, Veo 3. Veo 3 Fast is designed to work seamlessly in YouTube Shorts for millions of creators and users, for free. It generates outputs with lower latency at 480p so you can easily create video clips — and for the first time, with sound — from any idea, all from your phone.
Also coming to Shorts, YouTube is a custom version of Google’s text-to-video generative AI model, Veo 3, a new remixing tool, an “Edit with AI” feature, and more, according to a YouTube press statement.
What Can Creators Expect?
Creators can expect YouTube’s new AI tools to significantly streamline content creation, editing, and strategy, particularly for Shorts. The new capabilities include AI-generated video and audio, advanced video editing, data-driven optimization, and enhanced audience interaction.
These AI tools are designed to democratize content creation by lowering the barrier to entry and reducing the time required for production. However, YouTube also emphasizes that human creativity should guide the process. While AI can handle many time-consuming tasks, creators are still responsible for ensuring their content adheres to Community Guidelines, regardless of how it was generated.
Ask Studio is a new, AI-powered chatbot in YouTube Studio designed to be a creative partner for YouTube creators. The chatbot offers personalized and actionable insights on creators’ channel analytics, community feedback, and content ideas.
