Head to the Meadowlands Racetrack for Fan Appreciation Weekend this Friday, June 30 and Saturday, July 1, with live harness racing kicking off at 6:20 p.m. both nights.
Saturday night’s card features a line up of stakes races including the Crawford Farms Open Trot, the Six Pack for mare trotters, the Dave Brower Memorial Open Pace and the Perfect Sting Mare Pace.
Both nights offer $1 hot dogs, pretzels, popcorn and soda plus $2 draft beer, all from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Café, on the Victory Terrace, and in the Backyard.
There are also dining options at the Backyard BBQ Grill & Bar, with a menu featuring slow smoked ribs, brisket, pulled pork and a variety of sides like mac-n-cheese, coleslaw and fries.
Fireworks happen on Friday to pay tribute to Independence Day, with the best views atop Victory Terrace, that also offers racing action, and the New York City skyline. The fireworks show begins about 15 minutes after the last race.
Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment is open year round and racing enthusiasts can watch and wager on live harness racing and simulcast races from around the world. Doors open 11 a.m. for simulcasting.
