Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson are starring together as a married couple who form a Neil Diamond tribute band in the upcoming film “Song Sung Blue,” based on a true story about musicians finding love and purpose later in life.
The trailer was released in September, and the film is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 25. The Sardinas are singers from Milwaukee, Wisconsin who perform in Lightning & Thunder, a Neil Diamond and Patsy Cline tribute band.

Tony winner Jackman plays Mike Sardina. Hudson, a fellow musically inclined Oscar nominee, plays Claire Sardina. Jackman sings “Sweet Caroline” in the trailer.
Written and directed by Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow), “Song Sung Blue” is based on the 2008 documentary of the same name by Greg Kohs. Kohs also serves as an executive producer on the new film, alongside Erika Hampson.

The production reported spending $29.5 million in New Jersey and received a $10.2 million tax credit, per the state Economic Development Authority.
