Scholarship Aims to Empower Future Healthcare Leaders Committed to Organ and Tissue Donation

The Sharing Network Foundation awarded six health sciences scholarships to New Jersey students pursuing careers in the field of organ and tissue donation and transplantation.

The 2024 recipients were announced on Nov. 20 and include:

  • Karsen Griffin of Teaneck – Bergen Community College, Major: Respiratory Therapy
  • Abagale Petty of Stafford Township – Georgian Court University, Major: Nursing
  • Amelia Rowniewski of Wallington– American University, Major: Public Health
  • Angelyna Scheck of Newton – Eastwick College, Major: Mortuary Science
  • Reilly Williams of Neptune – Seton Hall University, Major: Nursing
  • Devon Woods of Ho-Ho-Kus – Eastwick College, Major: Surgical Technology

“These remarkable students inspire us with their dedication to making a difference in the lives of others,” said Amanda Tibok, Executive Director of the Sharing Network Foundation. “Their commitment underscores the importance of NJ Sharing Network’s mission, and we are thrilled to support their journey. We are confident that each of these scholarship recipients will contribute significantly in their future careers in healthcare.”

Angelyna Scheck, who is studying mortuary science, said she hope to provide compassionate support to grieving families. Devon Woods, studying surgical technology, said she hopes to provides medical assistance.

Health Sciences Scholarship Program

The Sharing Network Foundation inaugural Health Sciences Scholarship Program was open to New Jersey residents currently enrolled in a U.S. college or university, majoring in fields such as nursing, social work, medical technology, or biology.

Applicants were required to demonstrate a connection to organ and tissue donation and transplantation, either through personal experience, advocacy efforts, or professional aspirations.

The scholarship program is Funded by NJ Sharing Network’s Employee Giving Campaign to help foster the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Applications will be accepted for 2025 soon. Eligibility requirements include:

  • Good academic standing
  • New Jersey resident
  • High school senior entering college in fall 2025

Application Deadline: March 3, 2025
