Art of Wellness at Bergen New Bridge Medical Celebrates Women’s Health

The Bergen New Bridge Medical Center Foundation is showcasing the crossovers of art and healthcare with the unveiling of a painting donated by Bergen County artist Michelle Kaufman.

Kaufman was inspired by the Medical Center’s Mammography Suite ribbon cutting last year and donated her art to celebrate the work the hospital is doing for women’s health.

Kaufman’s donation serves as a symbol of strength and empowerment for patients undergoing diagnostic imaging services, according to Bergen New Bridge Medical Center (BNBMC) . Her artwork intends to brighten the space and uplift spirits, while also embodying hope and healing.

The Art of Wellness event was attended by hospital executives, Foundation trustees, and community members to demonstrate the importance of community support in advancing healthcare initiatives.

“It is fitting to be in a room full of strong, powerful, and successful women,” said Deborah Visconi, President & CEO of Bergen New Bridge Medical Center.

Bergen New Bridge is the largest hospital and licensed nursing home in New Jersey, and the fourth largest, publicly owned hospital across the United States.

Visconi, along with Executive Director of Development Marion Troise, thanked Kaufman for her generous donation, which will go toward continuing to help brighten the days of those receiving diagnostic imaging services at the medical center.

Donna Abene, Foundation Trustee, also echoed Visconi’s sentiments, highlighting the collaborative efforts to enhance access to life-saving treatments and innovative healthcare solutions.

“I’m proud to be able to bring people together to see the essential work Bergen New Bridge does providing access to life essential services to our neighbors, friends and loved ones,” Abene said. “I’d like to thank the amazingly talented artist, Michelle Kaufman, for her generous gift.”

With a commitment to elevating women’s health and wellness, BNBMC offers a comprehensive range of services, including primary care, cardiology, mental health, gynecology, breast care, and nutrition. Through events like the Art of Wellness, the Medical Center and its Foundation continue to raise awareness and vital resources to support their mission of enhancing community health and well-being.

The Bergen New Bridge Medical Center Foundation plays a pivotal role in advancing the Medical Center’s goals by raising financial resources to enhance facilities, support innovation, and fund vital programs.

Consisting of volunteers from many professions and walks of life, the one thing they all have in common is their commitment and concern for the patients, long term care residents and diverse communities served by Bergen New Bridge Medical Center, BNBMC said.
